Russian modernized tactical UAV system enter acceptance testing

Article Abstract:

Russia's modernized Kulon (Moscow)-built Story-PD reconnaissance system that employs the Pchela-1K unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is recognized as accepting testing at the Russian Air Force evaluation center in Akhtubinsk. The three versions of Pchela are built and approved before the new modernized Pchela-1K version, namely, Pchela-1T with daylight TV camera, Pchela 1l with the Elf-1M linear infrared (IR) scanner, and the Pchela-1VM aerial target.

Vitebsk self-protection suite receives Ka-50 helicopter test

Article Abstract:

The L370 Vitebsk helicopter self-protection system, developed by the NII Ekran institute of Samara, Russia, was flight-tested on board a Kamov Ka-50 'Havoc' attack helicopter during the second half of 2004. The system, known as Kotchuga in its export derivative, was designed to protect combat and assault helicopters against anti-aircraft missile systems and fighter aircraft and warns the crew when a threat is detected, activating countermeasures.

MiG showcases Indian MRCA offering

Article Abstract:

The Russian developed MiG-35 fighter offered to India for its multirole combat aircraft requirement was unveiled at the Aero India exhibition. The aircraft's avionics system is integrated into the fire-control and navigation system, all its devices are interconnected by a compatible data bus, a multi-function X-band radar and air-to-ground electro-optical sensor units are present with two 16-round 50mm flare dispensers.
