South Korea admits to nuclear experiments
Article Abstract:
Revelations by South Korea has enriched nuclear material in atomic vapor laser isotope separation (AVLIS) experiments in 2000 in contravention of its international nuclear safeguard obligations has led further doubt on the next round of the Six-party Talks aimed at resolving the North Korean nuclear problem. South Korea's nuclear ambitions have led to regional security fears in the past and have caused considerable friction between Seoul and its key collaborator, Washington.

US warns Seoul over aircraft contract
Article Abstract:
South Korea is considering various options in ordering a new generation of fighter aricraft, and the US State Dept. has warned that the US may not be able to provide technological assistance if another country's aircraft are chosen. There have been angry reactions to the remark in South Korea.

US redeployment raises questions in south Korea
Article Abstract:
The Pentagon formally notified Seoul that it would withdraw nearly one-third of its main fighting formation from South Korea and would send them to Iraq. Washington and Seoul indicated that the redeployment would not affect the latterEs defenses against any possible threat from North Korea.
