Ads link Cisco name, Net
Article Abstract:
Cisco Systems Inc launched an unusual corporate image advertising campaign in 1999 that has attracted widespread public attention. The ads promote the virtues of the Internet, including how it will change the world for the better. They conclude with a reminder that 'virtually all Internet traffic travels along the systems of Cisco.' A USA Today Ad Track poll found that consumers might not have liked the ads, but they considered the spots effective. This is because the commercials have successfully gotten people to connect the Cisco name with the Internet.
