Air-bag glitches prompt GM recall
Article Abstract:
General Motors intends to recall over 1 million Cadillac, Chevrolet and Pontiac cars because of problems of air-bag inflation sans a crash. The recall comes on the heels of a probe conducted by federal safety regulators when an inadvertent deployment of an airbag resulted to death. Eight other models, that include half a million 1994 Chrysler minivans, were also subjected to investigation by authorities. Inadvertent inflation of air bags represent another problem for automakers and dealers, who are already confronted with lawsuits from air-bag related deaths in car crashes.
