Amazon moves to frontline of shaping 'Web services'

Amazon, the world's top online retailer has given a shape to Web services, the much-hyped notion of creating economic activity by enabling companies to more easily work together across the Internet. Programmers ranging from hobbyists to skilled professionals have found ways to tie everything from text in word processing documents, raw MP3 music files, entries in online journals, called Weblogs for sale on Amazon's Web pages.

Linux took on Microsoft, and won big in Munich
Article Abstract:
Germany city council of Munich, voted in favor of upgrading nearly fourteen thousand personal computers with Linux operating systems. Microsoft tried its best to ensure that the account is not lost but failed and analysts state that this could well mark the beginning of many more such accounts being lost unless Microsoft does not get its act together and face the challenge posed by Linux.
