B of M's Barrett says clients can still expect 'world-class' bank
Article Abstract:
The Bank of Montreal said that the quality of its service will remain world class despite the failure of its proposed merger with Royal Bank of Canada. Bank of Montreal and Royal Bank of Canada has announced on Jan 23, 1998, that they would merge their operations and even warned that they would be forced to scale back their businesses if the merger fails. However, Finance Minister Paul Martin said that Canadian banks can cut their operations and still provide the world-class service to customers.
