BK aims to cook up winning ads
Article Abstract:
Consumers surveyed by USA Today's Ad Track survey did not give high ratings to Burger King's latest TV spots. One of the ads shows a man getting a bouquet of Whoppers, instead of flowers, for his anniversary. Another shows a man stealing the dessert from the Burger King meal that he is bringing a friend in the hospital. The ads are more promotional and less image-oriented but bring Burger King to its core group of customers, people from 18 to 24 years in age.

Candy bar breaks crispy new ground
Article Abstract:
M&M/Mars' new Snickers Cruncher is already among the top 10 candy bar brands due to a well-crafted advertising campaign that illustrates the Cruncher's new flavor through humorous vignettes of crunching alternatives. The Cruncher is the latest addition to the Snickers line, combining caramel, milk chocolate, crisp rice and peanuts. USA Today's Ad Track consumer poll shows that 34% of respondents like the ads 'a lot' vs the poll's average of 22%.
