GM dealers facing shortage of popular models
Article Abstract:
General Motors Corp. strikes are hurting 8,3000 dealerships around the US, who were left with a dropping supply of the most in-demand GM cars and trucks due to strong sales through the weekend. The supply of the most popular GM models, such as the Suburban and Tahoe sports-utility vehicles, have dropped since the strikes initiated by the United Auto Workers union. GM dealerships have stated their supply is sufficient for now, but if the strikes continues through August 1998, they will all be in the used-car operation.

Airline revenue slumps as cheap seats abound
Article Abstract:
Airline revenue dropped due to numerous fare discounts made by major airlines, according to figures from the Air Transport Association. This resulted in the decline of stock price of major airlines, including Delta, American and United. The revenue drop persisted even though major airlines have already implemented two fare hikes in 1999. The industry report showed a 3% drop in average domestic revenue per seat in Apr 1999, while revenue from business travelers dropped by 2%.
