BellSouth, SBC consider joining wireless forces
Article Abstract:
SBC Communications Inc and BellSouth Corp are planning to combine their wireless telecommunications services in a joint venture deal that has a potential customer base of 175 million individuals. The resulting company would be almost national in reach and could go beyond the territories occupied by the respective firms through access agreements with other carriers. A wireless joint venture between SBC and BellSouth is seen as a sound proposition because of the compatibility of their technologies.
