Both sides hope Compaq witness helps them this week
Article Abstract:
Software developer Microsoft Corp will turn to hardware company Compaq Computer Corp as witness in the government's antitrust suit. Compaq VP John Rose is expected to give weight to Microsoft's argument that the integration of Internet Explorer browser in its Windows 98 operating system has benefitted Compaq and its users. Microsoft will rely heavily on Compaq's testimonies because of its bungled defense highlighted by misleading videotaped demos, damaging concessions and evasive testimonies.
