Brazil slams Bombardier subsidies
Article Abstract:
Bombardier Inc.'s funding from the Canadian government is being criticized by the Brazilian government as illegal under the new international trade laws. According to the Brazilian government's documents on Canadian subsidies, the billions of dollars in government funding has extensively increased the competitive edge of Bombardier. The documents, which have already been submitted to the World Trade Organization, also concludes that federal and provincial governments in Canada have provided Bombardier between C$2.7 billion and C$3.6 billion in illegal export subsidies.
