CAW considers refusing to install Magna parts
Article Abstract:
The Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union is considering not to put Magna International Inc.'s components in vehicles at Canadian assembly plants. The automakers affected in the decision by the union include Chrysler Canada Ltd., Ford Motor Co. of Canada Ltd. and General Motors of Canada Ltd. Production of profitable and important vehicles would be stopped due to the action. Much damage would result in General Motors' Oshawa, Ontario plant, which is beginning to assemble a redesigned pickup truck, which will use Magna parts. CAW said that the action is a retaliation against the aggressive resistance made by Magna management.
