Cantel's new CEO ringing in change
Article Abstract:
Rogers Cantel Mobile Communications Inc.'s new chief executive and president, Charles Hoffman, is optimistic that the cellular-telephone firm is on the way to profitability. Hoffman believes that Cantel's difficult business initiatives, such as a 25% downsizing of its workforce, will set the foundation for the firm's return to profitability, despite of the uphill struggle it has to do to achieve profits. Cantel plans to launch later in June 1998 simpler airtime-pricing packages for its cellular-phone services and to introduce changes into its corporate structure.
