DALSA headed for the big screen: Company hopes to revolutionize how movies are made

DALSA Corp., a Waterloo, Ontario semiconductor maker in an attempt to revolutionize the way movies are made would rent out its Origin camera, a digital movie camera that would enable photographers to save money on a shoot and yet deliver the same picture quality as film. With a huge sale of the cameras, DALSA posted a profit of 25 cents a share on revenue of $37.7 million.
