Deeper discounts replacing car stickers shock
Article Abstract:
The average vehicle discounts from sticker prices have grown to 11.3% in 1999 from 5.1% in 1985, said a report by CNW Marketing/Research in Bandon, OR, as car buyers become more informed. The improvement is attributed to the help that the car buying web sites have provide to car buyers in providing invoice pricing. The web sites are instrumental in helping car buyers negotiate with dealers.

Saturn satisfaction loses its ring
Article Abstract:
Saturn dealers have dropped to the 4th place in terms of customer sales satisfaction, according to the annual buyer survey from JD Power and Associates. The ranking showed that 18% of Saturn customers felt pressured, particularly in trade-in negotiations. JD Power explained that the added pressure could be due to the recent decline in average sales and profits in these dealership. The result signals a negative sign in Saturn dealerships, which have been known for its excellent sales process.

Even Web buyers should kick the tires
Article Abstract:
A study conducted by CNW Marketing indicated that car buyers who purchase their vehicles through Web-based dealers may not get the best prices. The study shows that buyers who conduct research online save about 3.5%, but those who buy directly from a dealer on the Internet pay 6.5% more. Dealers have to pay Web services to customer referrals, which increases a vehicle's price.
