Eaton's goes market
Article Abstract:
T. Eaton Company Ltd. CEO George Kosich is relying on a shift to upmarket and dressing au courant to regain the popularity of the chain and restore it to profitability. The strategy is to convince wayward customers who have abandoned the 129-year-old retailer in droves that Eaton's is now one of the most fashionable shopping destinations. Flush with cash from a recent C$175-million initial public offering, T. Eaton is undergoing a two-year makeover started by Kosich and his management team. The renovation includes construction of about 35 in-store supplier shops in each of its 64 stores, majority of which offering designer labels.
