Infant car seats recalled because of bad handle
Article Abstract:
Century Products was ordered to recall 4 million infant car seats that can double as baby carriers. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have declared that tthe product is safe as a car seat but should not be used as a carrier. The plastic handle on the carrier can crack, dropping the infant to the ground. The recall covers all rear-facing infant car seats/carriers with one-piece handles manufactured between Jan 1991 and Jul 1997.

3 millions bassinets, swings, walkers recalled

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of almost 3 million children's products. Kids Line has recalled 46,000 Le Cradle bassinets because infants can become trapped and suffocate in an opening between the bassinet's side and mattress platform. Fisher-Price is recalling 2.5 million Lift 'n Lock Swings because children have fallen out and seriously injured. It is also recalling 246,000 Get Up & Go Walkers because they can tip over.

6.5M tires recalled
Article Abstract:
Bridgestone/Firestone announced that it would recall 6.5 million of its tires used on sport-utility vehicles and light trucks. The tires to be replaced are size P235/7SR-15 ATX and ATX II. More than 60% of the tires to be replaced were installed on Ford vehicles, mostly Explorers. Ford and Firestone said 80% of the accidents associated with the tires happened in Arizona, Florida, California and Texas.
