Japan to take Canada to WTO over 6.7% imported car tariff
Article Abstract:
Japan plans to take Canada to the World Trade Organization due to Ottawa's decision to maintain a tariff on imported cars. Japan will challenge Canada on the 6.7% tariff on most vehicles imported from outside North America. According to a Japanese embassy spokesman, the country is challenging Canada's discriminatory treatment against companies outside its auto pact with the US. After reviewing its auto policy, the federal government of Canada concluded that it will keep the tariff on vehicles made by automakers not in the 1965 Canada-US auto pact.

Vintners talk boycott over EU barring of ice wine
Article Abstract:
Canadian and European officials failed to resolve trade barrier issues that prevented the sale of Canada's ice wine in the European Union. Although the product has won several awards in different European wine contests, EU officials still bar its entry due to supposed failure to meet guidelines on alcohol content and on processing. Canadian ice wine producers are considering a boycott of European wine.
