Ottawa aims to save whales from those who love them
Article Abstract:
Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans is planning to impose strict rules on the popular whale-watching industry. New laws would require tour operators in British Columbia, Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to stay at least 100 metres away from whales.

Canada may widen its same-sex marriage reference to the Supreme Court. The federal government may ask the court if a non-marriage civil union would be in violation of the Charter of Rights.
