Safety groups want SUVs recalled because of tire concerns
Article Abstract:
Consumer safety groups Strategic Safety and Public Citizen are asking Ford Motor Co to recall more than 3.4 million Explorer SUVs made since 1991, claiming the treads of Bridgestone Firestone tires used in these vehicles can peel off, especially during warm climates. Sean Kane, a partner at Strategic Safety, said rollover accidents may happen once people lost control of the SUVs since the tire treads can come off like banana peels.

A study conducted by the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis shows that the benefits of using cellphones outweigh the risks of using them while driving.
