Pettigrew rejects lumber industry tax proposal

A US lumber lobby's proposal to impose higher levies for Canadian timber exports, in order to end the two countries' softwood trade dispute, has been turned down by Canada's trade minister, Pierre Pettigrew. The softwood dispute has led to the elimination of jobs in Canada.
