Prescription for concern
Article Abstract:
Australian pharmacists feel threatened by the growing popularity of Pharmacy Direct, a mail-order nonprescription drug company founded by pharmacist Peter Brown. Brown maintains he is meeting an economic need, offering drugs at lower costs, and is responsible about the amount of drugs he sells to individual customers. However, nonprescription drugs bought in large quantities can be chemically altered into illegal drugs. Burglaries at pharmacies have risen, and pharmacists note only nonprescription drugs are stolen.
