From sour grapes to online whine
Article Abstract:
Whitehouse.com founder Dan Parisi has spent roughly $100,000 to register the domain names of more than 500 of the world's largest firms with the sucks.com suffix. This suffix is a traditional World Wide Web addendum to identify sites for complaints. Parisi's goal is to create a giant portal that will serve as a clearinghouse for consumer and worker complaints. Thus, people will soon be able to visit sites such as TWAsucks.com, GMsucks.com, Ciscosucks.com, Microsoftsucks.com and MerrillLynchsucks.com. However, the US corporate community is concerned about such developments. While the Internet is a powerful vehicle for direct and public consumer gripes, it also enables anonymous parties with grudges to trash corporate reputations.
