Pat Rafter, ranked as the second-best tennis player in the world, has much to prove at the 1998 Australian Open. The offensive game is traditionally Australian and Rafter is showing that serve and volley game can be successful. His performance in the French Open and US Open have put him with the world's best players such as Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Britain's Greg Rusedski, and Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman.
