Net encroaches on TV news
Article Abstract:
A biennial news consumption survey shows a decline in the percentage of Internet users watching TV news. The results of the survey conducted by Thie Pew Research Center for The People and The Press reveals that 53% of Internet users watch some TV news on an average day while 59% of those who are not on the Web watch TV news. Findings also indicate that only 40% of Internet users spend 30 minutes or more watching TV news. Results suggest that the Internet is competing for a diminishing news audience which is unlikely to change.
