Rogers plans marketing deals with Quebec firms

Rogers AT and T Wireless, which is the wireless and paging division of Toronto, Ont.-based Rogers Communications Inc., is seeking to form marketing alliances with Montreal, Que.-based Cogeco Cable Inc. and Montreal, Que.-based Groupe Videotron ltee. The cable television companies would market Rogers AT and T Wireless' services in Quebec in the deal.

Microcell exits wireless auction

Montreal, Quebec-based Microcell Telecommunications Inc. has withdrawn from bidding for new wireless spectrum licenses. Microcell, which is a mobile telephone services company, was bidding against the country's five manor telecom firms.
