Should the federal government establish a mandatory long-term-care insurance program?
Article Abstract:
Arguments in support of, and against federal government funding for long-term-care (LTC) are presented. Public protection that aims to strike a fair balance between government and private financing, targeting benefits to those in greatest need are recommended, while it is argued that when the government stops giving away what the LTC insurance industry and reverse-mortgage lenders are trying to sell, more people will buy those products.
