Telemedia to buy Okanagan to expand in Western Canada
Article Abstract:
Telemedia Communications Inc of Montreal, Quebec, is buying Okanagan Skeena Group, the biggest regional media firm in Western Canada, for C$92.7 million, or C$9 per common sahre. The acquisition will bring another 45 radio, cable TV and broadcast properties into Telemedia's broadcast portfolio, which consists of 27 radio stations mainly in Ontario and Quebec. The agreement includes a C$3.5 million breakup fee in case Okanagan finds another suitor.
