Using evidence-based educational strategies to increase knowledge and skills in tobacco cessation
Article Abstract:
Adaptation of the culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) is becoming more and more significant for tobacco cessation in nursing practice to meet the increasing demand for improved patient results and accountability for healthcare delivery and crucial steps are been taken to formulate the best educational strategies for promoting tobacco cessation within nursing curricula. A model is described to aid in nursing strategies to fill the gap between the EBP and tobacco cessation to ensure that the nurses have the required knowledge and skill to improve the tobacco cessation outcomes.

Nursing's involvement in tobacco control
Article Abstract:
The factors behind the relative silence of the nursing organizations about the tobacco industry, the primary vector of the tobacco disease epidemic are studied and the significance and effectiveness of the nursing organizations in exposing the industry due to the numbers, class status, political capital, moral authority in the society of the nurses are discussed. The cessation research on the industry to engage nurses in tobacco control, activism and education should include study on the industry's promotion, political activism support to cessation, and many such other programs.
