The World Trade Organization (WHO)agreed with the US that laws protecting Canada's magazine industry violate open trade rules specified in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT)'s. WHO's decision threatens the continued existence of Canadian magazines. US magazines will flood into Canada.

O Canada, we stand on guard for fish

Canadians are willing to sell almost any natural resource to foreign multinationals, have the Pentagon take over the military, and see the culture usurped by Hollywood, but fish are sacred. But the Canada-US fishing war must not obscure the rule that the US is Canada's best friend.
