Viruses await: PDA, cellphones are vulnerable
Article Abstract:
Mobile devices such as handheld computers and cellphones are increasingly at risk from computer viruses. The threat is real but will not be much of a problem until 2001. Anti-virus vendors are preparing for the onslaught of viruses that are expected to hit Web-enabled cellphones or handheld computer owners which are projected to reach more than 120 million by 2005. Symantec has established a division to create anti-virus programs for service providers while McAfee.com has begun selling anti-virus programs for handhelds in Aug 2000.

More teens get hung up on cellphones
Article Abstract:
Cellular phones have emerged as an essential part of a teenager's lifestyle and wardrobe. The devices are used regularly by over 25% of 13- to 18-year-olds in the US, a percentage that is expected to reach 30% by 2001. The popularity of cellphones is attributed to the reduced cost of acquiring the communication devices, the convenience and security it provides to parents and their children and the agressive marketing being done by cellphone makers and wireless telecommunications firms.
