Germany: Fibreboard without synthetic resin
Article Abstract:
Wood and paper technology experts at Dresden Polytechnic have developed a technology in which synthetic resins in the production of medium- and high-density fibreboard is replaced by pocket rot fungi. The products developed in cooperation with an unnamed industrial partner are suitable for incineration or composting.

Sika group of Switzerland is strengthening its leadership in the market for process materials for ship-building by taking over the Danish company Cufadan Marine. Cufadan, which produces floor insulation against impact noise, generates an annual turnover of about DKr 35mn.
