Between military and militants
Article Abstract:
The Pakistan military is believed to maintain ties with the Taliban in Afghanistan and with religious extremists even in 2007, although various economic incentives to army personnel ensure that they remain loyal to the Pakistani government. However, there is no strategic shift to abandon militants and militancy, and a critical question is whether the army realizes the dangerous long-term implications of its militant links.
