Putin's oriental puzzle
Article Abstract:
The criticality of Vladimir Putin's (the President of Russia) visit to Japan, in the light of the major dilemma arising for Russia in respect to its relationship with its Asian neighbours, namely China and Japan, is explained. It is mentioned that Russian policy-makers should come out of their psychological inheritance of Soviet and Tsarist eras and work towards the spirit of interdependency and this will help Russia to become an important player in the Asia-Pacific region.
