Election rigging and how to fight it
Article Abstract:
Electoral authoritarian regimes, which resort to unfair electoral practices in their bid to retain power has become the most common political system in Central Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and the Middle East. Common methods used by such regimes to cheat at four different stages of the electoral processes are assessed in a bid to help both citizens and international election observers to detect similar abuses in future elections.

Voting for change in the DRC
Article Abstract:
A successful, orderly and peaceful national election conducted in October, 2006 in the Democratic Republic of Congo is in itself a major achievement as it is a severely strife-ridden country. The cabinet installed by the president is large and therefore expensive and only with the passing of time can the real beneficiaries be identified as well as the necessity of such a big governing body measured.
