Housing diva still fighting for tennant's rights after 32 years

Bertha Gilkey, who has been fighting for tennant's rights for 32 years, opposes cuts in public housing funds and an attempt to disperse public housing tennant's to other parts of their state. Public housing complexes coupy prime land in many major cities and vested interest want to reclaim the land to build houses for people who the live in the suburb Gilkey believes both Republicans and Democrats are responsible for the new plans against public housing. She is meetings with tennant's rights officials to device methods to show heir opposing to cut in funds.

Attorney Lena S. King honored for life's work
Article Abstract:
Lena S. King Lee has been awarded the Distinguished Jurist Award and been made a member of the National Bar Association Hall of Fame. She is famous for her ability to prevent bills that discriminate against blacks from being made into laws. She is a strong defender of the freedom of choice and emphasizes the economic development of blacks. According to Lee, childrens' education has to be improved as black youth have no appreciation for their heritage.
