Bad attitudes, bad race relations, bad cops
Article Abstract:
Many people were shocked as they watched the beating of Rodney King on national television in 1992. However, such incidents are not new and there is an overwhelming number of similar incidents that are not documented. Many factors contribute to the strained relationship between the police and the black community. One of these is the different way police work is conducted in black communities. The police tend to be more aggressive in enforcing the law among blacks, which may be the reason for the higher number of blacks being arrested and sentenced.
