Measuring peace movement impact
Article Abstract:
The West German peace movement's impact on society can be measured by analyzing several variables. These include what the movement tried to influence, resources of the institution the movement tried to affect, receptiveness to challenges, and how long the movement lasted.

A street in Stuttgart is named after Mahatma Gandhi after his birthday in October, 1997

City government in Stuttgart, Germany has named a street after Mohandas K. Gandhi. Stuttgart business have many joint ventures with Indian enterprises, and Mahatma Gandhi Strasse is the first German street named after an Indian citizen.

A manifesto opposing the military draft policy was developed in 1993. This manifesto was based on pacifist statements by Mohandas K. Gandhi, Leo Tolstoy, and other prominent people.
