Navigating today's mortgage market
Article Abstract:
Minorities are discriminated against even with various federally backed mortgage programs to assist them for home mortgage loans. A study shows that mortgage application of one in nine blacks is rejected. An awareness about schemes and programs would, however help them. There are various mortgage programs financially backed by FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. FHA loans require a low down payment (3%-5%) and it insured 34% of total home mortgage loans to African-Americans in 1994. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac also require low down payments and are making efforts for insuring home mortgage loan for low-income groups and minorities.

Socrates today
Article Abstract:
The life and philosophy of Socrates continues to be relevant to modern society despite the great developments which have taken place since his time. Socrates stood up to the prevailing culture and philosophy of Greece in the 400s BC. He maintained that people should forsake their quest for money and public acclaim and focus instead on the cultivation of their souls and the search for wisdom and truth.
