Observations from the 2000 NPT review conference
Article Abstract:
The first NPT conference since the treaty was indefinitely extended in 1995 produced an optimistic final document in which nuclear-weapons states and non-aligned countries renewed their efforts to seek common ground. The US ambassador/special presidential envoy describes the procedings.

Article Abstract:
The 2000 meeting of the states party to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty will not produce the dramatic results of the 1995 conference. However, restraint and adherence to principles should produce incremental progress.
