Saddam Hussein's legacy: A preliminary assessment and future implications
Article Abstract:
A preliminary assessment of Saddam Hussein's legacy to Iraq where the Sunnis ruled a Shiite majority and a Kurdish minority and the process of reconstruction after him were studied. The country has always attracted foreign powers due to various reasons and hence under the leadership of the United States the autocratic ruler was thrown out and a process for the successful emergence of a stable and prosperous Iraq was envisaged on the basis of rectifying ethnic and sectarian imbalances and regional insecurity.

Mindanao on the Mend
Article Abstract:
A photo essay, which documents the disappointing setbacks and the signs of success and hope for the future of the people of Mindanao, which is an island in the southern Philippines and is struggling for its freedom since 1972, is presented. The photo essay shows that the people of Mindanao are determined to continue their efforts for bringing in peace and reconciliation amongst the Christians, Muslims and Lumads.
