The determinacy of Republican Policy: A reply to McMahon
Article Abstract:
The Indeterminacy of Republican Policy, according to Christopher McMahon is that, in some policy contexts, supplementation is required if determinate conclusions about policy are to be obtained. But it is argued that republican theory requires the promotion or maximization of freedom as nondomination and domination can be economically and usefully reduced if there is a distinct, nondominating agency like the republican state, that establishes a suitable range of empowered choices for all.
