Self-determination as a universal human right
Article Abstract:
International human rights documents include self-determination as a basic human right, although promoting self-determination for peoples and protecting the human rights of individuals are competing priorities. It is suggested that recognizing that self-determination is a constitutive element of human dignity and one people's right, the right to self-determination is the basic right.
