Some observations on the dispute settlement system in the World Trade Organization
Article Abstract:
The World Trade Organization's Dispute Resolution Understanding and the GATT each provide for adjudicative and negotiated approaches to dispute resolution, despite the intense focus by most on the adjudicative approach. The aim of the provisions is to make sure member states gets equitable treatment under GATT rules. The basic tenets of the these dispute resolution laws and their application are discussed.

Transparency in government procurement: issues of concern and interest to developing countries

Issues are presented concerning the concerns which have been expressed by developing countries in relation to the transparency of government procurement policies. The World Trade Organization's rules on transparency are discussed.
