Supervisors' perceptions of the performance of cooperative education employees working in federal agencies
Article Abstract:
Quality employee recruitment and retention are major concerns in the public sector because of low wages and the low regard of the public for government jobs. Many government agencies recruit by working with colleges and universities in cooperative education programs. A study was therefore conducted to investigate cooperative education programs in government. It also tested the theory that federal workers recruited from cooperative education programs perform at higher levels than other workers.

The Kirton Adaptation-Innovation Inventory: validity issues, practical questions
Article Abstract:
The 32-item Kirton Adaptation-Innovation Inventory (KAI) was published in 1976 and purports to measure the propensity of people to adapt and innovate. A study conducted a series of different validity checks for the KAI and tested the KAI theory that groups consisting of extreme adaptors or extreme innovators are not as effective as those that have a balance of both. Results found that KAI is a valid measure of adaptation-innovation in management decision making.
