The information age is not yet here
Article Abstract:
The world has yet to experience the Information Age, as it is still in an age of telephony and television. The worldwide level of computing remains at a modest level with less than 5% of the world using computers, although the 100 million mark of PCs is soon to be reached. Participation is seen to increase when the complexity of computing networks has been drastically minimized and network computers have become as simple to operate as telephones or TV sets. When participation rate has risen to 50% or greater globally, the Information Age has finally arrived.

Article Abstract:
Former US Sec of Defense William Perry thinks that the US reconnaissance-strike force helped minimize casualties in armed conflicts. This military innovation was developed to offset the advantage of the Soviet Union and the Eastern bloc in terms of armed forces and weaponry. Some of the innovations that have provided the US with military superiority include the Joint-STARS aircraft, AWACS and the Global Positioning System.

The information edge: America's non-nuclear deterrent
Article Abstract:
Former Defense Secretary William Perry stresses that the US is superior in military-technology as compared to other countries. Perry also noted that the US is actively pursuing development programs such as the reconnaissance-strike force and the airborne laser to enhance war deterrence.
