Annotation: correspondence analysis
Article Abstract:
Correspondence analysis is a technique which displays categorical data in an accessible visual format. The presentation is a supplementary aid to the understanding of data with multiple variables. Researchers have, traditionally, not made great use of the technique, but it is becoming increasingly popular, and software packages facilitate its usage. The end product of correspondence analysis is a form of scatterplot which displays the multivariate data so that any patterns reveal themselves visually. Correspondence analysis of several sets of data demonstrate the technique.

Annotation: class size and the quality of educational outcomes
Article Abstract:
Intense debate has surrounded the interpretation and effects of an upward trend in UK class sizes especially in the primary sector. A large majority of each sample from 1996 national survey indicated that classes were too large and that this had a negative impact on teaching and learning. To most parents and teaching professionals, the obvious need for smaller classes of at most 30 students per class is evident, but the UK government has taken a distinctly different view.
