Clinical response decision tree for the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringeii) as a model for great apes
Article Abstract:
Disease is one of the main threats to the remaining great ape populations of the world, and the decision to intervene in the health of the species is often made subjectively due to poorly defined criteria often influenced by emotion. A consistent framework for evidence-based health intervention decision-making is provided, which includes a five-tier decision tree that helps to ensure standardized data collection so that meaningful comparisons can be made to better assess risk and risk-management options.

Human cognitive ecology: an instructive framework for comparative primatology
Article Abstract:
The research-work done on human cognitive ecology, compared with studies of the cognitive ecologies of apes-especially, the common chimpanzee, is presented. The main objective is to assess the feasibility of extending an activity-theory framework, for studying the cognitive accomplishments and skills of other primates.
