Effects of auditory pattern structure on anticipatory and reactive attending
Article Abstract:
A study of the role of a pattern's pitch and time structure in attentional monitoring on listening to music and related sound sequences is presented. Three experiments are conducted where task to assess selective attending to the pitch of a tone within a repeating pattern is conducted and five theoretical approaches to the respective roles of pitch and/or time structure are assessed where no single approach accounted for all results.

Biased retellings of events yield biased memories
Article Abstract:
When people retell a story or recount an event, they aim to captivate their listeners by tailoring the content and perspective to the perceived needs of the audience. This study indicates that this reorganization process can bias the memory of the original event and alter the subsequent retrieval of relevant story details.

Expectancy, attention, and time
Article Abstract:
Research in which subjects estimated time duration suggests accuracy estimation declined as standard intervals differ from context rates. Judgment of time was most accurate when standard time intervals ended as anticipated, given the context rate.
