For whom the bell curve tolls: a review of 'The Bell Curve.'
Article Abstract:
Richard J. Herrnstein and Charles Murray's 'The Bell Curve' can be seen as a treatise of psychological science meant for making psychological science popular as well as a sociopolitical policy assertion. The issues discussed in this book include the nature of intelligence, theories of the nature of intelligence, societal tackling of cognitive capacities, forecasting job performance, modifiability of intelligence, heritability and group differences. The book seems to be meant for common people because it is being marketed as a popular, not scientific, book while its data was not subject to peer review despite its sensitive nature.

The impact of necessity and sufficiency in the Wason four-card selection task
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine whether the facilitative influence of content-based rules occurs because of individuals' understanding of thematic rules as unnecessary-but-sufficient, an understanding that is absent for abstract or arbitrary rules. Performance in the Wason card selection task was examined. Results indicated that errors found in syllogism do not necessarily correlate with a breakdown of deductive processes.
